Smallest Folding Stroller: 6 Picks That Fit 24 x 18 x 12 in
The Munchkin Sparrow folds into the smallest box of the 132 strollers in our quiz that state a folded size: 15 x 14 x 6.25 inches (38 x 36 x 16 cm), per Munchkin's page. Five more fit a 24 x 18 x 12 inch gap, from the Cybex Libelle to the Ergobaby Metro 3. Sizes come from maker pages read October 22 to 27, 2026.

Find my strollerSome days the stroller has to go somewhere small. A hall closet shelf, the gap beside the car seat, the strip left in a trunk once the groceries are in. In those places what counts is how big the box is once it folds.
A light stroller can still fold into a long tube, and a long tube does not go in a short gap. So we looked at the box first, using the folded size printed on each maker’s page.
Pick by your gap
- Smallest box overall in our data: Munchkin Sparrow, 21.6 liters.
- A gap long in one direction and narrow in another: Cybex Libelle.
- A taller child, since the Sparrow caps height: Cybex Coya, 7.1 inches thick.
- A newborn will ride: Joolz Aer2 or Ergobaby Metro 3.
- You carry it more than you push it: Mamazing Ultra Air X, 9 pounds.

What matters when the gap is small?
Three numbers decide it.
Folded volume in liters ranks the strollers fairly, because it counts all three sides. The longest side decides whether a stroller goes in at all: the Delta Jeep PowerGlyde folds to a modest box, yet its longest side is 41.7 inches, so it fails a 24 inch side. The thinnest side decides whether it slides onto a shelf. Weight comes after those three, unless you carry it up stairs.
| Stroller | Folded, longest side first | Folded size (liters) | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Munchkin Sparrow | 15 x 14 x 6.25 in 38 x 36 x 16 cm | 21.6 | 12.8 lb 5.8 kg |
| Cybex Libelle | 18.9 x 12.6 x 7.8 in 48 x 32 x 20 cm | 30.4 | 13.7 lb 6.2 kg |
| Cybex Coya | 20.5 x 17.3 x 7.1 in 52 x 44 x 18 cm | 41.2 | 14.6 lb 6.6 kg |
| Joolz Aer2 | 20.9 x 17.3 x 9.2 in 53 x 44 x 23 cm | 54.5 | 14.3 lb 6.5 kg |
| Mamazing Ultra Air X | 20.7 x 17.5 x 10.6 in 53 x 44 x 27 cm | 63.0 | 9.0 lb 4.1 kg |
| Ergobaby Metro 3 | 22 x 17.3 x 9 in 56 x 44 x 23 cm | 56.2 | 17.1 lb 7.8 kg |

We chose 24 x 18 x 12 inches (61 x 46 x 30 cm) as an example of a tight gap. It is not a standard size, and we did not measure it anywhere. Your gap is different, so type yours into the quiz at the end.
Six strollers that fit, in quiz order
The Sparrow sets the bar for size, so it goes first.
1. Munchkin Sparrow

Best for The smallest folded box of the six, for a gap with almost no depth.

Munchkin’s page gives the Sparrow’s folded size, and by our count it is the smallest box of the 132 quiz-ready strollers with a stated folded size. It is flat as well as small. If the gap you measured is small enough to make you give up on strollers, start here.
Flat matters in a shallow gap, and the Sparrow’s thin side is the thinnest of the six. Only the Mamazing is lighter.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recall list, checked October 22, shows nothing for the Sparrow, Libelle, Coya, Mamazing or Metro 3. Each block shows its check.
The catch is the child limit. The maker states 55 pounds and a height of 41 inches. A child can reach that height before the weight, so the height may end its use first. Our records for the other five hold a weight limit only.
Skip this if your child is already tall for their age. The Cybex Coya has the same weight limit and our record holds no height cap for it, though its box is bigger.
Bottom line: it is the smallest fold we found, with a height cap to check against your child. Check today's price at Amazon (opens in a new tab)
2. Cybex Libelle

Best for A gap that is long in one direction and narrow in the middle, such as the end of a closet.

Some gaps are not boxes. The end of a closet can be long but narrow, and the Cybex Libelle is shaped for that. Its middle side is 12.6 inches against the Sparrow’s 14, while its long side is 18.9 against 15.
So a gap that is narrow across but long takes the Libelle and not the Sparrow. If every side of your gap is roomy, the Sparrow’s smaller box wins.
Cybex says the Libelle is designed to be carry-on compatible, and that the approved size “may vary depending on airline.” The page says it suits a child from 6 months, and from birth only with a Cybex infant car seat on the adapters in the box. Cybex’s pages for other regions list a newer Libelle with a lower weight, so check which one you are buying. We read the US page.
The Libelle is a little heavier than the Sparrow, so you get the shape, not an easier carry.
Skip this if a newborn must ride without a car seat. The Joolz Aer2 states “from birth” with no add-on. The Coya, from the same maker, takes the other shape: flat instead of tall.
Bottom line: it fits long, narrow gaps the Sparrow’s wider middle cannot, and the page says to check the airline. Check today's price at Amazon (opens in a new tab)
3. Cybex Coya

Best for A shallow shelf and a taller child, when the Sparrow's height cap is a worry.

If your child may reach the Sparrow’s height cap but the gap is still a shallow shelf, the Cybex Coya is the flat answer. It is no smaller than the Sparrow on any side, so the reason to pick it is what the Sparrow lacks: our record shows no height cap.
Cybex says the folded size fits an overhead compartment but names no airline rule, so treat that as the maker’s claim. The page states 6 months for the seat, or from birth with an infant car seat or the Fold Lux Carry Cot, sold separately.
The Coya is heavier than the Sparrow and the Libelle, and its box is bigger than both. Its maker list price is the highest of the six, more than twice the Libelle’s.
Skip this if cost matters or your child is small. The Libelle folds smaller, costs less than half as much, and our record shows no height cap for it either. If a newborn will ride, the Joolz Aer2 is a similar flat slab with a stated start from birth.
Bottom line: it is a flat fold for a taller child, at the highest maker price of the six. Check today's price at Cybex (opens in a new tab)

An older recall exists for a related product, not this model. Details
If a newborn will ride and the gap is flat, the Joolz Aer2 states the start plainly. Joolz’s US page says “from birth,” with no add-on named.
The Aer2 folds flat, a little thicker than the Coya, with the one-hand fold the maker describes. What it adds is room below the seat. Its basket limit is the highest of the four picks that state one. It carries more than the Libelle or the Coya, and four times what the Mamazing does.
Joolz says the stroller is compliant with IATA (the International Air Transport Association) and fits overhead cabins, and the airline decides at the gate. A CPSC recall covers the Aer2 car seat adapters only, and CPSC’s text leaves the stroller out.
The child limit is 50 pounds, lower than the 55 that the Sparrow, Libelle, Coya and Mamazing state. Skip this if your child is already close to that. The Libelle and the Coya state more and fold into less space.
Bottom line: it is the flat fold that states from birth, with a lower child limit. Check today's price at Amazon (opens in a new tab)
5. Mamazing Ultra Air X

Best for The lightest of the six, for stairs and long carries.

Stairs, a subway platform, a long walk from the car: the Mamazing Ultra Air X is the pick for days like that. At 9.0 pounds without the organizer and cushion, it is the lightest of the six, with them on or off.
The box pays for it. The Mamazing is the largest of the six, nearly three times the Sparrow’s volume, and it stands tall instead of lying flat.
In an r/Mommit travel stroller thread of 13 comments, one parent wrote that it “folds flat enough” for a bag.
The basket limit is the smallest of the picks that state one, and the page says it is not car seat compatible. The Mamazing’s two age lines disagree: the spec table gives a later start, while the product details block says from birth. We trust neither as a promise, so read the maker’s page before a newborn rides.
Skip this if your gap is tight. The Sparrow folds into about a third of this box.
Bottom line: it is the lightest of the six, with the biggest box and the smallest basket. Check today's price at Mamazing (opens in a new tab)
6. Ergobaby Metro 3

Best for A newborn-ready fold when weight matters less.

If a newborn will ride and you can live with a heavier stroller, the Ergobaby Metro 3 is the sixth fit. The maker’s page names an integrated Newborn Nest mode, or car seat adapters, for a newborn.
It is the heaviest of the six, and the only one where the maker’s own pages disagree on weight: 17.1 pounds on the product page, 16.7 in the help center. We list the product page’s figure.
The folded size comes from the help center, which does not say which side is which. We list every stroller longest side first, so that does not matter here. The page we read showed a euro price, so we hold no US price.
One parent in the same r/Mommit thread said the Metro 3 “fits into the overhead compartment” on planes, “though we usually just gate check it anyways.”
Skip this if weight matters. The Mamazing is roughly half as heavy, and the Joolz Aer2 is almost three pounds lighter with a similar flat fold.
Bottom line: it is the heaviest of the six, with a newborn-ready start. Check today's price at Ergobaby (opens in a new tab)
How did we pick these?
We ran the quiz rule on our data: one child, a toddler, a child limit of at least 30 pounds, no lifting need, and a 24 x 18 x 12 inch gap.
- The quiz holds 145 strollers. Eighteen passed the rule.
- Eleven of those eighteen state a full folded size.
- Six of those eleven also have a real product photo. Those are the picks.
The photo rule is why the Delta Clutch is missing. Its box is the second-smallest, and the quiz would rank it third, but we found no product photo we can use. It is in the table below.
The order is the quiz’s, with no hand changes. The quiz weighs folded volume most, then how many facts the maker page states, then weight. So the Mamazing sits above the Metro 3 even though its box is bigger: it is much lighter, and its maker page states more, a US price among them.
We also read 258 comments in six r/Mommit threads on November 1, but only two threads were about travel strollers or trunk fit, so Reddit played a small part. The method page lists every source rule.
What we dropped, and why
| Stroller | Why it is not in the six |
|---|---|
| Delta Children The Clutch | The second-smallest box, which the quiz would rank third. We found no real product photo we can use, and we show a real photo for every pick. |
| Delta Children (Jeep) Arrow Travel Stroller | Fits the gap. Same photo reason. |
| UPPAbaby Minu V3, Mockingbird Travel, Delta Children (Jeep) Icon Ultra Compact | Fit the gap but rank below the six by the quiz rule. |
| Delta Children (Jeep) PowerGlyde | Folds small, but its longest side is 41.7 inches, past the 24 inch side. |
| Ingenuity Smooth Stroll, 3Dlite, 3Dlite ST, 3Dmini, Colugo Compact+, Jeep Boost Jogging, Jeep Classic Jogging | Our records hold no usable folded size for them, so the quiz lists them as “folded size not stated”. We kept them out of an article about folded size. Three Ingenuity pages print sizes with a longest side of 40 inches or more, which fails the gap. The Colugo’s printed size looks like it would fit, so it may belong here once we add it. |
| GB Pockit | A news article about it ranks for this search, but it is not in our data yet. A gap in our list, not a verdict on the stroller. |
| Stokke YoYo3 | The page we saved lists no folded size or child limit. |
How small can a stroller fold?
Of the 132 quiz-ready strollers with a stated folded size, the smallest box is 21.6 liters and the middle one is about seven times larger. Only two fold under 30 liters. The sizes come from the maker pages dated above, so a newer model year can differ.
Does a small fold mean a light stroller?
No. Among strollers that fold under 65 liters, weights run from 9.0 to 17.7 pounds, almost double. The Sparrow has the smallest box, and the Mamazing is the lightest of our six.
Decide which number you lift and which you slide into a gap, then pick the one that wins on that number. If weight alone is your problem, our travel strollers page sorts for it.
Will a small stroller fit in an airplane overhead bin?
Not by size alone. A small folded size does not make a stroller carry-on, because the airline sets the rule and the gate agent applies it.
Five of the six have a maker cabin claim: the Sparrow from Munchkin, the Libelle and Coya from Cybex, the Aer2 from Joolz and the Metro 3 from Ergobaby. Joolz and Ergobaby name IATA (Ergobaby’s line names the Metro 3 Deluxe), and Ergobaby tells buyers to check with their airline. We read no airline’s rule.
Measure the gap tonight
Start with the Munchkin Sparrow if the gap decides everything: it is the smallest box we found. Tonight, put a tape in the gap and write down its length, width and depth in inches. Then type them into the quiz, and it ranks every stroller we hold for your gap.
